Prompt: In “Her Sweet Weight on My Heart a Night” by Emily Dickinson, the speaker describes the emotional weight another person can have on us. Think about someone who has left a lasting impact on your life. In what ways do you still carry that person with you?

Someone who has left a lasting impact on my life is one of my close friends. I still carry their influence with me through the memories we made and the lessons they taught me. Even when we are not together, I still think about how they helped me become a better person.

Prompt: In “Heart, We Will Forget Him!” by Emily Dickinson, the speaker shows a conflict between what we think and what we feel. Describe a time when your heart and your mind seemed to want two different things. Which one did you listen to, and why?

One time, my heart wanted to stay friends with someone, but my mind told me it was better to move on. I listened to my mind because I knew it was the better choice for me. Even though it was difficult, I knew I was making the right decision.

In Emily Dickinson’s “I Felt a Funeral, in My Brain,” the speaker experiences a mind that seems to work against her. Sometimes our own thoughts can make a situation feel worse than it actually is. Describe a time when overthinking, worrying, or doubting yourself affected the way you handled a situation. What did you learn from the experience?

One time when I was overthinking, worrying, or doubting myself was when I was really stressed with schoolwork and finals last year. I learned to calm down and take it peice by peice to get work done and study. I did well on tests and got all my school work done aswell as learning a valuable lesson. That's how I can relate to the poem.

Prompt: Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

I would like to go on many adventures in my life. One adventure that I really want to go on the most is a trip to glacier park. First off, I wanna visit glacier park because I'v heard that Alaska is a very pretty state and has a lot to do. Also, glacier park looks like it has great views, hiking, and wildlife. Finally, I want to visit a lot of national parks and create a list of all the ones iv been to so that would help my list.

What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and explain why it stands out as your best work.

One of the most creative things I have ever made was a bouquet of hydrangea flowers using pipe cleaners and floral sticks. I made them for a friend that loves hydrangeas and they were white and pink. This stands out as my best work for many different reasons. First off, they took me around 8-10 hours to make, they turned out very pretty, and they were hard to learn how to make and connect to one big bouquet.

Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

There is a lot of burning questions I desire to know in life. One of those questions is what happens after you die? I want to know the answer to this question because when I die I want to know what will happen to me and where I would go. I want to believe in heaven and after-life, but it seems so far fetched and almost fantasy rather than reality. Another burning question I want to know is the secrets that the Government is hiding from us such as aliens, unidentified flying objects, and other things.

Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.

I'v adapted to the demands of this course over the past week in many different ways such as time management, critical thinking, and creative writing. One challenge I'v had to adapt to from this course is my daily blog assignments and how to manage my time to get them done. One strength Iv adapted to is creative writing and making a fictional origin story. One personal example is the creative writing peice on the earth/human/animal origin story that I enjoyed writing.
