Prompt: September 11 changed many aspects of American life, even though your generation was born afterward. Think about a major event that has happened during your own lifetime, such as the COVID-19 pandemic or another event that affected your community or the country. How do you think your experience with that event helps you understand what it might have been like for Americans to experience the uncertainty and change following 9/11? Explain the connection.

The COVID-19 pandemic helps me understand what Americans may have felt after 9/11. During COVID-19, everyday life changed quickly, and many people felt scared and uncertain about what would happen next. Schools, jobs, and social activities were affected. This helps me understand how 9/11 created fear and uncertainty while changing the way people lived their daily lives. Today in class we took our test on the story, "A Rose for Emily". I learned good test taking skills and glad we got to use the packet to help us answer the questions.
